Recently my friends and I had a little argument on which league is better, NCAA basketball or the NBA. To cut to the chase I will come out and just say it “I HATE THE NBA!!” It’s just a bunch of grown men running around, laughing all the way to the bank as they collect their six to seven figure checks. March Madness is one of the most hyped sports events; it is a sixty four team bracket, single game elimination, where names are made on the biggest stage in college basketball. Upsets are what makes March Madness what it is. The pressure is on these players to play 110% every game, you lose you’re out. You can pack your bags and head home. It isn’t these seven game series that lasts for months. After every season every NBA players uses the famous line “There is always next year.” Well, it is great that they could use it but no senior could really use that, it is the end. It is that season or never.
According to the NCAA “There are over 380,000 student athletes, and most of us go pro in something other than sports.” Many of these players will not be playing on the pro level, they aren’t playing college sports to go pro and make the big bucks. No, they are playing for the enjoyment and pride for their school. That’s what sports are supposed to be about.
I have more fun watching little sixth and seventh graders tally up about twenty points in a game (on a good day), than to watch an NBA game. Throughout the years many sports have changed the game to get fans in the seats. Well, I got an idea for the NBA, why don’t you bring back the excitement.
